Reality is what science can in principle discover. Minds are what brains do. Religion is an understandable human artifact. I go where the evidence goes, and the evidence for God is not there.

Where we already agree

A deep trust that the universe is intelligible and that truth is worth following wherever it leads. We agree completely, and that agreement is load-bearing.

The question this path walks toward

You trust a brain produced by an unguided process that aimed at survival, not truth. You trust it even about invisible things: mathematics, logic, the deep structure of reality. Why is the universe intelligible to an accident, and why does the accident's reasoning reach so far past survival? What if your trust in reason is itself evidence about what kind of universe this is?
